Frequently asked questionsFAQ about the Aluminium Dog Tag with QR Code & Laser Engraving
Answers about the QR code, digital dog page, data security, location sharing and period of use.
What is the aluminium dog tag with QR code and laser engraving?
The bone-shaped dog tag is made from lightweight, anodised aluminium and is robust for everyday use. In addition to the QR code, it is laser engraved with your chosen text. When the QR code is scanned, your dog’s personal DynaTag WebApp opens directly in the smartphone browser.
It can display shared contact details, information about your dog, health information and important notes. The digital pinboard also allows finders, vets or carers to exchange images and messages.
What information is available digitally and as an engraving?
Depending on your personal settings, the following information can be displayed:
- Emergency contacts and contact options
- Your dog’s name, profile photo, age, weight and other details
- Allergies, medication, vaccinations and other health information
- Voluntary location sharing by the finder
- Digital pinboard for images and text messages
You decide which information is publicly visible after the QR code has been scanned. Suitable engraving details include the dog’s name, a phone number or a short note. We recommend no more than four short lines of text.
How secure is my data in the WebApp?
All stored information is hosted on protected servers in Switzerland. You manage the data through your personal user account and decide which details are visible after the QR code is scanned.
Share sensitive information selectively and, where appropriate, coordinate particularly confidential details with your emergency contacts.
What happens when someone scans the QR code?
Your dog’s personal page opens directly in the smartphone browser. The finder does not need an app or their own user account.
The shared information is displayed immediately and the finder can contact you directly. Their location is shared only if they actively use the function and give their explicit consent.
Can I update the stored information myself?
Yes. Through your personal DynaTag user account, you can add or change contact details, information about your dog, health information and other notes at any time.
Updates can be made online from a smartphone, tablet or computer and appear immediately on the digital dog page.
Are there any subscription fees or monthly charges?
No. The purchase includes five years of use without a subscription or monthly charges.
After the five-year period, usage can be extended for another one-time fee.
Can I track the location of my missing dog?
No. The SOS Dog Tag is not a GPS tracker and cannot actively or continuously track your dog. It contains neither GPS nor a battery.
If someone scans the QR code, they can voluntarily share the location of their own smartphone. The location is transmitted only when the finder actively uses the function and gives their explicit consent.
