What is the difference between a QR code and laser engraving?
Laser engraving permanently displays fixed details such as your pet’s name or a telephone number directly on the pet tag. This information can be read without a smartphone or internet access, but it cannot be changed after production.
A QR code opens a digital pet profile containing contact, pet and health information. The digital details can be updated at any time via the DynaTag WebApp. Some models combine a QR code with laser engraving.
Does the finder need an app?
No. The QR code can be scanned using the standard smartphone camera or an integrated QR scanning function. The digital pet profile opens directly in the browser. The finder needs neither an additional app nor a user account.
Which pets are the pet tags suitable for?
The pet tags are particularly suitable for dogs and cats. Depending on their size, weight and attachment, they can also be used for other pets. Especially lightweight and compact models are recommended for smaller animals.
What is the difference between aluminium and silicone?
Anodised aluminium is lightweight, dimensionally stable and especially suitable for clearly readable laser engraving. Silicone is soft, flexible and quiet when the pet tag comes into contact with a collar, harness or food bowl.
The most suitable option depends on the size of the animal, the desired level of comfort and your preferred design.
Can I change the stored information later?
Yes. With QR pet tags, you can update contact people, pet details, photos, health information and personal instructions at any time via the DynaTag WebApp.
Laser engraving is permanent and cannot be changed digitally after production.
Is the DynaTag pet tag a GPS tracker?
No. The pet tag does not perform permanent location tracking or record movement data. After scanning the QR code, the finder can voluntarily share their current location. Location sharing is intentionally initiated through the finder’s smartphone.
What information can a finder see?
You decide which details are shared. These may include your pet’s name and photo, multiple contact people, health information, medication, allergies, behavioural instructions and other important information.
Does the pet tag work without internet access?
The finder’s smartphone requires an internet connection to open the digital pet profile. The QR code itself does not require a battery, SIM card or its own mobile connection.
Any laser engraving remains directly readable without a smartphone or internet access.
Are there ongoing costs for a QR pet tag?
The purchase of a pet tag with a QR code includes five years of access to the DynaTag platform. No additional subscription is required during this period. Engraving-only tags do not require a digital platform.
Can I manage multiple pet tags in one user account?
Yes. You can manage multiple DynaTag products and pet profiles through one user account. This is practical for several pets or when one animal uses different collars, harnesses or pet tags.
Where is the pet profile data stored?
The information is stored on the DynaTag data platform in Switzerland. You decide which details are stored and visible after a QR scan.
